Diagram even more with Instaviz 2.1 and iPad multitasking on iOS 9. Just launched this weekend!
4 1/2 years, 30 new features, 400 commits and a prayer later --
Just submitted 2.0 for TestFlight beta approval (1 comment)
Hang on tight guys, this is the big one!
I have something shiny to show you today!
I really want Instaviz to be a seamless extension of your mind, a tool to let you just think.
So for this new 1.25 release, we've ripped out the old clunky settings panels and installed something far smoother: scrub settings. Just scrub your finger across the bar to quickly get to the settings you want. You can dial in the color you want or pick something from our 18 new arrow shapes. The font picker shows all your fonts and styles faster now. We've redrawn all the style icons in a sublime theme, and the circles bubble when you touch them.
Do DownloadAndInstall Instaviz and take it for a spin. Look through the changes here: 1.25. As we gear up for the public release of 2.0, I would love any and all feedback, bug reports, suggestions and criticisms: issues , forum.
Thanks for your patience with these updates. I'm sure they're worth the wait, and I hope to hear from you soon!
This update features the sweet icon work and hard design of Humaan: Jay Hollywood and friends . I'm always excited to see their next icon reveal or new design idea. This is as much their baby as it is mine!
We're launching beta version 1.24 today! This version features some of our major new changes for the final release: better select + drag gestures and full 64-bit support.
Thanks for your patience. Looking forward to those bug/feature reports!
I've moved our redmine website to use https instead of http. All the pages and links should work as usual, and show the grey https lock icon in your browser bar.
The move improves security:
- Using https now allows you to DownloadAndInstall Instaviz directly on iOS 7.1 and later.
- When you type in your username and password, you can be sure they can't be intercepted by third parties.
I've asked Humaan to take over the graphics design for Instaviz 2.0.
Jay & co. have won awards with their charming, careful work, which covers icons, websites and apps. I've also had the privilege (and fun!) of working with them in my former life at Immersive Technologies.
I already love their icon work for 2.0 and you should see some of these drop in version 1.24 or 1.25. Do comment on any design issues that come up!
We're working hard on the Instaviz interaction design -- with new, spiffy graphics and better gesture support. It's taking longer than I would like or expect, so I would value your patience with us!
Meanwhile, the old version 1.23 will expire at the end of February. This new Instaviz 1.23.1 is a quick release which extends the beta expiry date, so please DownloadAndInstall this version. If you find any bugs or want new features, raise them here or post a message in this forum.
Sorry for the long gap between 1.22 and 1.23, we've been struggling somewhat with graphic design, project funding and scope.
In particular, we want to really smooth the way you interact with Instaviz, especially on iOS 7, but these exciting new changes take time to get right. See for example #333 - #338, #341 - #344 in the issues list. I'm aiming to get them ready in the rough for 1.24.
Meanwhile, I've just rebuilt Instaviz 1.23 with some minor bug fixes and tweaking for iOS 7. You'll also need this version if you're running 1.22, since that version expired on 30/11.
Looking forward to those reports!
Now that iOS 7 is just over the horizon, I've just rebuilt Instaviz 1.22 for the new OS. Note that we now require at least iOS 6.0 to run the app.
Looking forward to those reports!
